Streets in Toronto get all sorts of cute abbreviations, a common one being Av & Dav, which is short […]

Definitely a world apart, Lilacopse Farm, with its expansive gardens, is an incredible, magical haven – immediately full of good grace, country charm and lots of wonderful memories for me from my intermittent […]

guelph-goldberg-1.MP3Goldberg Graffiti 1 At the essence of Urban Flute Project is the excitement of sharing impressions – both visual and acoustic – of incredible spaces and locations. Some time ago, in visiting old haunts in Guelph, I discovered this pedestrian underpass: a wonderfully graffitied tunnel that allows foot traffic to gain access to the Greyhound […]

Copland, Somewhere, U.S.A.

copland-underpass-1.MP3Copland, Duo I had 10 minutes to set up and record. One of the shortest stops we made en route through the midwest by Greyhound from Chicago to Detroit was at a gas station near this bridge…didn’t catch the name of the town, somewhere between two Springfields in two different states, if I’m not mistaken. […]

Moon Over the Ruined Castle, NYC-style!

This is neo-busking at it’s best…‘Moon Over the Ruined Castle’ never sounded so good! I’m more familiar with Louis Moyse’s set of variations on this old Japanese melody, but, this is just great in my books: superb, engaging duo-work, replete with NYC subway cars and stone-faced passers-by!
