Hi Susan, Thanks for your thoughts here, and your heartfelt reminiscences. It really was great to have a chance to play together for such a receptive audience, where you could show off your newly re-discovered musical prowess!
What you were able to communicate with your playing that day is of special significance in so many ways.
btw Apologies about the wierd soundfile here...I'll see if I can get a 'clean' copy posted sometime soon!
Cheers

Jamie: Thank you for joining me in playing at the Rehab Hospital on Remembrance Day. Musical companship was very helpful at an emotionally charged occasion! The picture of the lobby posted was very apppropriate. Many of we patients sat and there and looked out to Universitiy Avenue. I think that the people sitting there and looking out had many reactions.

It was a glorious fall when I was an in-patient. The planters on the median were in full flower. There was considerable bustle on the sidewalk. For me the window framed "ordinary" life and I felt drawn to it, wanting to be part of it again. It added to my determination to make the best recovery I could. It didn't all come at once, and some things came much more easily than others. Toronto Rehab deserves praise for the incredible work it does and I will always be greatful for their assistance in my recovery. But I'll also remember that window on to the world too.
