A comprehensive Reference Map is coming soon to Urban Flute Project!
Part of my excitement in having taken part Mississauga’s recent Art’s Birthday event, was to have a soundfile accepted by The Canadian Association For Sound Ecolgy - their Mississauga Sound Map will give you an idea of the kind of visual guide I have in mind for Urban Flute Project.
If you follow the Sound Map link above, and then click on the Lakeview Generating Station entry, you will hear my trio for Primitive Wooden Flute, Pneumatic Drill & Birdsong, recorded at the base of the massive Four-Sisters generating station as it was prepped for demolition.
If you like the idea of ambient urban soundscapes, you might also want to check out New Adventures in Sound Art and their upcoming events. Before long, readers will be able to click on maps as a way to explore my recording adventures, everywhere from The GTA to Albuquerque, Reykjavik…and, soon, NYC!
