Spadina ‘Pied Piper’

UPDATE: The Lakeview Power Plant Demolition (see GTA, 1908, below) has been postponed, and will NOT be taking place on Monday due to wind: an off-shore breeze and/or light rain are required. I had anticipated an early start tomorrow to witness this implosion, the largest evercovered ‘live’ in North America, which is now re-scheduled for Tuesday or Wednesday.

Earlier today I had the distinct pleasure of returning to the line-up at Spadina Museum’s Annual Strawberry Festival, and sharing the stage with some absolutely fantastic musicians and performers. Here is a sample of Michael Franklin’s medieval music…the numerous dancing children in the audience were clearly put under the spell of this shawm and drum combination, as can be heard intermittently in the background. The transportative, hypnotic effect of this medieval oboe together with hand-drum makes the tale of the Pied Piper Hameln suddenly very real and believable!
